RIVERSIDE--- The California Baptist University women's basketball team will head to Abilene, Texas, this week, for its final regular-season game with the WAC Regular Season Title on the line.
CBU enters the week atop the WAC standings at 13-3 and would clinch the regular season title with a win over the Wildcats. A loss would still allow them to clinch a share of the title or win it outright on Saturday, dependent upon results from ACU and SUU down the stretch.
ACU and CBU have been the two top teams in the NET rankings among WAC schools all season long, and they split the previous two matchups. ACU won in Riverside on January 15, 70-59, before CBU avenged the loss with a 74-71 nail-biter at Moody Coliseum on February 7. The Lancers remain unbeaten in conference road games this season at a perfect 8-0 and will look to complete the feat on Thursday in Abilene, Texas. On the flip side, ACU has only one loss all season at Moody Coliseum, which came at the hands of the Lancers in the previously mentioned February 7 matchup.
In the all-time series, the Lancers are 5-3 against the Wildcats and will look to win their third straight in Abilene, with their last road loss coming in January 2024. In the previous victory, the Lancers outscored ACU 25-13 in the fourth quarter, overcoming a double-digit second-half deficit to win by three. Khloe Lemon would score 25 points in the victory off the bench, including the game-sealing triple with under 39 seconds remaining.
