Men's Water Polo Releases 2026 Schedule

RIVERSIDE--- The CBU Men's Water Polo team announced its 2026 schedule on Thursday afternoon as they will make their Big West debut. The schedule features several high-quality tournaments and a loaded conference slate, including four home matches at the Lancer Aquatics Center.
The Lancers will enter the new conference season with some momentum, as they have won 20+ games each of the last five seasons and reached the title game in all three of their seasons in the West Coast Conference, including earning a bid to the National Championships in 2024.
The season will begin on the East Coast, as the Lancers will take part in the Bruno Classic, hosted by a pair of Ivy League schools, Brown and Harvard. The Bruno Classic will feature matchups against Wagner, Brown, Harvard, and MIT. CBU will stay local for the next tournament as they will compete in the Indland Empire Classic hosted by Redlands in early September.
The home schedule will open up on September 10 as the Lancers will host Redlands and Biola at the Lancer Aquatics Center for a double-header. Following the brief home stint, CBU will hit the road to NorCal for the prestigious MPSF Invitational, hosted by Stanford, which will feature some of the top programs, including Stanford and UCLA, as well as several Big West opponents like UCSB and UCSD. The tournament will run from September 18-20 with opponents TBD.
The penultimate tournament of the non-conference schedule will be the annual Joust hosted by the Lancers on September 25 and 26. CBU will host Cal State Fullerton, Toronto, and Fresno Pacific in the tournament, beginning with a non-conference tilt with the Titans on Friday afternoon. CBU will remain home with a solo matchup with Fordham on September 28 to conclude its non-conference home matches. The final event of the non-conference slate will be the annual Gary Troyer Tournament in Pomona, CA, that will run from Oct 2-3.
The Big West portion of the schedule will begin on Saturday, October 10, as the Lancers will head to Santa Barbara to take on the Gauchos, followed by a non-conference tilt with powerhouse UCLA at the Spieker Aquatics Center in Westwood. The first Big West home matchup will be on Saturday, October 17, against UC Irvine. The conference schedule will be broken up by another trip to NorCal, in which they will face Fresno Pacific, San Jose State, and Princeton.
The schedule will close with three straight home matches against Long Beach State, UC San Diego, and Loyola Marymount, running from October 31 to November 14. The Big West Championships will be held at Long Beach State's campus from November 20-22.
