MSOC Preview: CBU to Make Its Pac-12 Debut Wednesday in Spokane

SPOKANE, WA --- Months of waiting are about to come to an end as California Baptist will compete in its first Pac-12 Conference match on Wednesday. A trip to the Pacific Northwest awaits the Lancers, who will begin the program's new era against the Bulldogs of Gonzaga University.

The non-conference slate of games closed out last week with the Lancers scoring an 82nd-minute goal to top UC Irvine, 1-0. The win in Irvine improved the Lancers 2026 record to 6-2-0, with each of CBU's six victories being a shutout performance.

Senior Blake D'Agostino netted the Lancers' only goal in their win over the Anteaters, his conference-leading fifth of the season. D'Agostino's 11 points also pace CBU. Seniors Drew Hardin and Felix Ezekwuka lead the unit with a pair of assists.

Goalkeeper Ulrik Stroem, a two-time Pac-12 Newcomer of the Week, has claimed the starting job after five consecutive shutouts. Stroem has allowed three goals in his debut campaign, all coming in his collegiate debut against Duke on August 23. Stroem is second in the Pac-12 with a .813 save percentage.

The Lancers' first opponent of the conference season, Gonzaga, enters the week with a 3-3-2 record. The Bulldogs claimed victories over Utah Tech, Northwest, and Cal State Bakersfield.

Gonzaga was last in action on Sunday, a 1-1 draw on the road against UNLV.

Drew Pederson leads the Bulldogs with three goals in eight appearances. Carson Hammond and Dashiell Stein are next in scoring with a pair of goals each. As a team, the Bulldogs have scored 12 goals while conceding eight.
