THIS YEAR: Kayla Van Duyn returns after being gone for a year at CSU-Stanislaus and may be just as strong as she was if not stronger then when she left ... Serves as one of four team captains ... Is a leader on and off the court ... Is one of four captains ...  Looks to win a title in all three years as an athlete at CBU.

CSU-STANISLAUS: Named to the All-CCAA First Team for the first time since 2002 ... Had the fourth-best record in team history with 997 assists as the team?s starting setter and was third on the team in both service aces (28) and digs (274).

2005: Recorded the second highest assists per game average (13.84) in school history ... Broke her 2004 school-record in single-season assists with 1,785 ... Set the school’s all-time record for assists with 3,285.

2004: Set a school-record with 1,496 assists as a freshman ... Posted the fourth-most assists per game in school single-season history (10.84) ...  Named the GSAC Setter of the Week three times throughout the season, the first time in any sport that a CBU player has been awarded weekly conference honors more than twice in a season ... Set a school record with 81 assists in the Lancers’ five-game upset of No. 1-ranked Fresno Pacific ... Set the school record with 69 assists in a four-game match against Concordia in the NAIA championship match.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Ripon (Calif.) Christian High in 2004 ... Played two years of varsity volleyball for head coach Renee Goslinga ... Earned All-Trans Valley League honors as a senior ... Earned honorable mention as a junior ... Team won league and CIF Sac-Joaquin Section titles her junior year ... Made honor roll all four years and was a Scholar-Athlete.

CLUB: Played with Club Manteca, Valley Juniors and Impact.

OTHER: Majoring in exercise science ... Would like to be a physical education teacher after graduation ... Aunt, Amy deDoes, also attended California Baptist ... Uncle, Matt deDoes, played basketball at Azusa Pacific ... Cousin Kristen Kalend played volleyball at NCAA Division I-power Pacific ... Enjoys wakeboarding, relaxing on a houseboat, watching television and listening to country music.
