Gerard Martin enters his first season with the men's basketball coaching staff as the Director of Player Development. He was previously on staff as a graduate manager and was hired on full-time in the summer of 2022.
Martin, a 2019 graduate from Grand Canyon University, played five seasons for the Lopes. During his time at GCU, he played in 119 games and started in 59 while averaging 22.1 minutes per game. As a redshirt sophomore and redshirt senior, he was named to the All-WAC Defensive Team.
Born and raised in Manly, Australia, Martin attended the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, Australia, for his senior year. Prior to that, he attended The Scots College in Sydney, where he was a two-time conference champion with a 20.0 scoring average. He helped his U16 and U18 teams win the National Championship and represented Australia in the FIBA U17 and U19 World Championships.
