Was a three-time captain for Palos Verdes Peninsula High School... Named MVP as a sophomore... Athlete of the Year Nominee, All South Bay All-Star Team... Also was a two-time tennis doubles All Bay League finalist... Also part of a men's volleyball team his junior year that won the CIF Championships.

Son of Kurt and Susan Hay... Has two siblings, Jessica and Nicole... His grandfather Don played football for Oregon State, father Kurt played tennis for Butte College, sister Jessica played softball for Colgate University, and sister Nicole plays softball for Washington University in St. Louis... Has aspirations of working in sports after graduation either as an Athletic Trainer, Personal Trainer, Coach or PE Teacher... Enjoys surfing, mountain biking, and being outdoors in his free time.
