SEASIDE, Calif. --- For the second straight week, freshman Malin Thorberg won medalist honors, this time winning The Golf Mart/Lady Otter Invitational Tuesday hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay.
Thorberg's two-round total of 146 (72-74) was three strokes better than the next closest competitor. Last week, Thorberg won co-medalist honors at the Grand Canyon Invitational.
As a team, the Lancers finished tied for second out of 18 teams, posting a 659 (332-327) on the challenging course. NCAA Division II Chico State won the event with a 646 (315-331) doing just enough to win by 13 strokes over the Lancers and Cal State Monterey Bay (337-332).
Adriana Niclotti finished tied for 23rd after finishing with a 169 (84-85). Shauna Curtis carded a 174 (88-86). Tracy White had a 174 (88-86) as well, and Samantha Katz posted a 176 (94-82).
