ORANGE, Calif. --- No. 20 California Baptist University posted a 16-10 win on Saturday over Chapman, before snatching its second win of the day over Redlands 7-5. The Lancers are now 20-6 overall.
On the back of junior Aaron Steiger, the Lancers grabbed their 19th win of the season. For the second day in a row, Steiger tallied six goals for the Lancers in the win. Brent Troutman added four scores in the victory.
Also similar to Friday's game, CBU jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first quarter. Chapman was able to net three of their own, but the Lancers took a 5-3 lead into the second quarter. The Lancers continued to pound the goal in the second quarter, with Steiger netting a hat trick in just two minutes during the period. CBU eventually took a 9-5 lead into the break.
The second half continued much the same way, with the quick-firing Lancer offense rolling on all cylinders. CBU tallied six goals in the third quarter alone, before closing the door on the Panthers, and sealing the win.
After defeating Chapman in Orange, Calif., the Lancer traveled to Redlands, Calif., and took a win over the Bulldogs.
CBU will be back in the pool Saturday. The Lancers are slated to play Whittier at 4 p.m. at the Lancer Aquatics Center.
