The win gives the Lancers a series victory as they won the last three games of the four-game set to remain unbeaten in eight PacWest series this year.
The Lancers are now 34-8 overall, 27-5 PacWest and will end the day no worse than three games ahead of second place Dixie State with eight games to play in the race for the conference title. Dixie State plays a doubleheader at Hawaii Pacific tonight.
Grand Canyon falls to 20-20, 17-15.
Though the Lancers had their second-highest hit total of the season, it took until their 10th hit of the game to score their first run when Daugherty came through with the first of three RBIs on a two-out single in the fifth. The Lancers left seven runners on in the first four innings.
The lead was short-lived, however, as Derek Mendoza hit a two-RBI double to center with two outs in the bottom of the sixth to give Grand Canyon a 2-1 lead.
That was Herd's only blemish on what was otherwise a stellar outing. He went seven innings, scattering five hits and just two runs. He struck out three to move to 4-0.
Trailing 2-1 in the seventh, Daugherty came through again with an RBI double, chasing 'Lopes starter Justin Lindsey (6-4), who was tagged for 15 hits and three runs in six innings. Two batters later, Sais gave the Lancers the lead for good at 3-2 with a one-out RBI single off reliever Sam Moore.
Sais, making just his fourth start of the season, becomes the fourth different Lancer to record a four-hit game this year.
Andy Crowley hit an RBI single and Daugherty added an RBI single in the eighth inning to push the Lancers' lead to 5-2, and then Kevin Odom made it 6-2 with an RBI single of his own.
Crowley, Daugherty and Odom each had three hits apiece. Matt Marnati, Blair Moore, Cole Bullard and Ryan Douglass all had two hits each. Marnati scored twice and Moore extended his streak of reaching base safely to 40 straight games.
