DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. --- California Baptist University's cheer squad took home second place at the NCA Collegiate Nationals Friday afternoon.
"CBU cheer is continuing to grow and make a name for itself in the cheer community," said Head Coach Tami Fleming. "Every time we have taken the competition floor at College Nationals, we have continued to improve our performances and our scores. The CBU name is quickly becoming synonymous with success."
The Lancers recorded their best score of a 9.260, which beat yesterday's preliminary round of a 9.128. The University of Central Oklahoma finished in first place with a 9.310 just 0.05 points ahead of the Lancers. Lindenwood University scored an 8.653 giving them third place and Grand Valley State University finished fourth with an 8.568. The University of Pittsburgh Johnstown rounded out the scoring with an 8.543 taking home fifth.
It was the best finish the Lancers have ever had at the NCA Collegiate Nationals.
