Relay Take Over

Claremont, Calif. – California Baptist University's swim and dive team competed at the Pomona-Pitzer Relays this Saturday at Haldeman Pool.
The Lancers took first out of six teams with a combined team score of 248 points, beating out Pomona-Pitzer (229 points), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (216 points), University of La Verne (68 points), Concordia University (31 points) and Chapman University (25 points).
Joshua Hanson helped the Lancers grab three first-place finishes including the men's 200-yard medley (1:34.99) with the help of Nikolay Klepikov, Andrew Donton and Kyler Blake, the 400-yard individual medley (3:39.54) with Blake, Derek Wedel and Klepikov; and finally the 3x100-yard breaststroke (2:58.05) with the help of Blake and Klepikov.
Hanson and Klepikov also competed in the mixed 8x25-yard medley, clocking in at 1:32.18, along with two female swimmers, Mary Hanson and Alena Rumiantceva.
On the diving board, freshman Zach Mullins finished second on the third-meter board with a score of 278.1 while Kendall Rummell finished second on the one-meter board with 264 points. Sophomore Andrew Rotundo finished third-place with a score of 253.35 points.
Next week, just the divers will compete as they head to the USC Invitational on Nov. 7. The rest of the team is back in action on Nov. 15 at home for the Pomona-Pitzer dual.
