RESULTS
SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Sixteenth-ranked California Baptist University came in as the underdog against UC San Diego Saturday, but gave the Tritons a challenge in a 180-120 loss after winning seven events.
Josh Hanson took home two first-place finishes in the 200-yard fly and 200 individual medley in one minute, 52.33 seconds and 1:53.16, respectively. Russian native Nikolay Klepikov also had two individual wins, sweeping the 100 and 200-yard breaststrokes in respective times of 56.84 and 2:02.30.
In addition to the veteran Lancers, the Yogyakarta, Indonesia native and Alexis Ohmar impressed by taking first in the 200 freestyle in 1:41.08.
On the diving board, Zach Mullins finished in first place with 285.75 points and Zach Parry finished in second with 264.15 points on the one-meter board. Parry also won on the three-meter diving board, as he accumulated 332.78 points.
"I believe Parry was only 20 points away from the school record on the three-meter," diving Coach Jeff Couto said. "The team did amazing this week and we are looking great as we approach conference."
The Lancers have one last meet, heading to Biola for a quad meet against the Eagles of Biola and Concordia and Fresno Pacific on Jan. 31, before the RMAC Championships, which are hosted in Colorado Spring, Colo., from Feb.11 to 14.
