RIVERSIDE, Calif. — For the second week in a row, No. 3-ranked California Baptist University's Darsha Burnside was named the PacWest Defender of the Week.
The senior center posted two double-doubles to help the Lancers down Northwest Nazarene, 89-69, and Humboldt State, 91-67. Burnside averaged 17.0 rebounds and 5.0 blocks per game during the week — snagging seven swats against the Crusaders to be just shy of a triple-double — along with 13.0 points per game on 66.7 percent shooting from the field.
Burnside leads the nation in blocks (5.25 bpg) and is fourth in rebounding (15.3 rpg).
CBU hosts Cal State L.A. Friday at 2:00 p.m., and tips off against Cal State Dominguez Hills at the same time the next day.
