RESULTS
CLAREMONT, Calif. --- California Baptist University began its season at the Rossi Relays on Saturday, competing in the 3000-meter run and the 4x800 Meter Relay.
The Lancer 3000 was led by junior Bruk Assefa , who posted a time of eight minutes, 45.54 seconds to finish in fifth place out of the 67 total competitors. Senior Bryton Reim crossed the finish line in 13th place (8:55.98) while Leandro Santillon and David Aguilar finished in 19th (9:01.55) and 22nd (9:04.90 ).
Jeremiah Gotts finished his race in 9:05.18 to land the 24th spot and was followed by Jorge Estrada, who finished 28th at 9:08.54.
The 4x800 Meter Relay was ran by Tyre Hines, Bismark Kipkilach, Ken Kipkorir and Daniel Swann, who stayed close together and finished in 4th place clocking in at 8:18.43
"We were happy just to see everyone race well and be competitive," said head coacb Ben Gall. "This was an ice breaker for us."
Teaming up for the men's distance medley included Valentin Robert, Daniel Swann, Lucas Graham and Zach Beimford, who finished in 7th place (10:20.10) for the A team. While Raul Moreno, Julian Hernandez, Townsend Kaneversky and Zach Beimford finished 23rd for the B team clocking in at 11:44.15.
The Lancers will head out to the Cal State L.A. Invitational on Mar. 7th in Los Angeles.
