RESULTS
LOS ANGELES, Calif. --- California Baptist University's distance track competed in three events at the Cal State LA Invitational Saturday afternoon.
Running for the Lancers in the 1500-meter run included Madison Hiatt, Alicia Williams, Millie Leitich, Hessica Malagron, Bethany Scherer, Alexys Estrada, Ashtyn Robidoux and Cammy Linger. The top Lancer runner's included Hiatt who finished in 24th place, clocking in at 4 minutes, 54.07 seconds, while Williams finished in 32nd place clocking in with a time of four minutes and 57.07 seconds. Finishing in 53rd place was Leitich with a time of 5:07.08
In the 3000-meter the Lancers finished in the top 20 runners, Caroline Barkechir beat a school record coming in at fourth-place and clocking in at 10:06.35
While Katie Deimling finished in 11th place (10:34.30), Claire Rainey came in 12th place finishing up at 10:34.37. Kim Rabenstein finished for the Lancers with at time of 10:42.19 finishing up in 18th place.
Out of 61 runners in the second 3000-meter run, Morgan Spurlock finished the cross line with an 18th –place finish (11:18.09) while Alyssa Avila finished the race for the Lancers coming in at 22nd place with a time of 11:30.56.
"Overall today was a great performance in all the events we competed in," said Head Coach Ben Gall. "Today, the highlight was the 3K, for sure. Katie, Claire, Kim and Morgan all ran personal best times. Caroline's was also a school record."
The Lancers will compete next at the Occidental Distance Carnival in Los Angeles on March 13 at 4:00 p.m.
