CBU ends the regular season 30-20, 22-10 in the PacWest and HNU winds up at 22-28, 12-20. Luke Navigato had a big game, batting 2-for-3 with three runs batted in. Antonio Chavarria and Stephen Lohr each went 2-for-5.
The Lancers struck first with two runs in the top of the second. Navigato plated the first run with an infield single and Jake Gallaway beat out a potential double-play ball to score the second run of the inning.
In the fifth, CBU finished its scoring. Andy Crowley doubled in a run and David cashed in another with a single.
The Hawks answered back with an eight-run bottom half of the fifth and a six-run seventh to take a 14-4 lead. The Lancers showed no quit and scored two more in the eighth on a two-run double from Navigato.
CBU finds out its fate for the NCAA Division II West Region tournament on Sunday with the Selection Show airing at 7:00 p.m. Pacific time (10:00 p.m. ET).
