RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Less than a week away from the National Cheerleading Association National Championship, California Baptist University showcased its talents Thursday night in its final tune up before nationals.
Both the CBU Golden Girls and Blue Crew, along with cheer teams from Fresno State, Palomar College, Mt. San Antonio and University of San Diego, showed off their skills, performing chants and dance routines that will be seen on the stage at The Band Shell in Daytona Beach, Fla., next weekend. Since CBU is adding a dance team in the fall, collegiate dance teams were also invited to perform in the showcase, featuring Riverside City College and Mt. SAC dance squads.
It also gave both of CBU's stunt teams to perform, after qualifying two groups for the second year in a row. Last year, CBU saw one group win its first-ever stunt championship and saw its other group take third overall.
The Lancers are looking to keep their undefeated streak (since 2013) alive and grab an unprecedented sixth-straight championship crown next week. Fans can follow updates of the NCA National Championship on the NCA website or follow @cbucheer or @cbulancers on Twitter for updates as well.
