Claremont, Calif —  Despite some runners resting for the Mt. SAC Relays and Bryan Clay Invitational coming up in two weeks, California Baptist University saw more personal records broken Saturday at the Pomona-Pitzer Invite.
Leanda du Bruyn grabbed a personal best time of four minutes, 31.98 seconds and took 12th overall in the 1500-meter race. The time was also good for an NCAA Division II provisional mark and ranks seventh all-time in CBU program history.
Berenice Cleyet-Merle took third place in the 800-meter event, clocking in 2:09.91 for another provisional mark, only two seconds short of passing her personal best time of 2:07.73. Alicia Williams wasn't too far behind, clocking in at 2:19.70, while Charlie Davidson followed Williams finishing in 2:21.19.
The Lancers have two weeks before they split up for the first time of the season. CBU looks to see more qualifiers at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif., as well at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif.
