Two Lancers Make B Cut Against UC San Diego

RESULTS
LA JOLLA, Calif. – California Baptist University saw two swimmers earn CSCAA B-cut times in a 195-104 dual loss at UC San Diego on Saturday.
Buse Topcu claimed her B cut during a first-place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of ten minutes, 15.32 seconds.
Alina Jungklaus finished first in the 400 individual medley in 4:27.98 to claim the second and final B cut for CBU on the day. Jungklaus also claimed points for the Lancers in the 100 (fourth, 58.88) and 200 butterflies (fifth, 2:12.06).
In diving competition, Emily Dunkerson took first and second place in the 1-meter and 3-meter dives, with 248.24 and 261.45 points, respectively.
In the 50 freestyle, Rita Smirnova came close to a B cut in 24 seconds flat for a second-place finish. Smirnova also finished third in the 100 freestyle with a 52.68.
Grace Oeser (200 freestyle, 1:54.01); Isabella Rhodes (100 butterfly, 57.59) and the team of Rhodes, McKenzie Kelly, Smirnova and Oeser (400-freestyle relay, 3:32.68) claimed second place finishes for the Lancers, as well.
Kylie Morrison claimed two third place finishes for the Lancers in the 200 backstroke (2:10.00) and 400 IM (4:36.35). Rhodes had another third-place finish in the 50 free (24.15), while Robin Smallwood did so in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.48).
Janae Jizmejian and Savannah Uhlir also claimed points for the Lancers. Jizmejian took third in the 1-meter (214.27), and Uhlir took fourth in both the 1 (201.67) and 3-meter (229.20) events.
The CBU divers return to Los Angeles tomorrow to wrap up the busy weekend of competition with the UCLA Diving Invite.
