Trio Leads Lancers at Toughest Test Yet

RESULTS
SAN FRANCISCO – California Baptist University's trio of Harrison Kingsley, Ben Hallam and Ryan Monsalve led the Lancers a seventh-place start at The Olympic Club Intercollegiate on Monday.
Kingsley, Hallam and Monsalve all rank in the top-30 of the 72 golfer tournament after scoring in both rounds for CBU. The Lancers shot 293 in both rounds for a 586 total that has it in seventh place of 13 teams with one round left on Tuesday.
It is perhaps the toughest tournament of the season for CBU, as there are five teams ranked in Golfstat's NCAA Division I top-100. Cal State Fullerton, which ranks 79th, leads the field with a 558, while No. 55 Nevada (563), 28th-ranked Brigham Young (570), No. 102 Santa Clara (572), 83rd-ranked UC Davis (578) and host San Francisco (580), which is ranked 52nd, round out the top six.
The Lancers lead Loyola Marymount (eighth, 587); Pacific (ninth, 594); Cal State Monterey Bay (tied for 10th, 598); Seattle University (tied for 10th, 598); Sacramento State (12th, 603) and Cal Poly (13th, 606).
There is one round left to play on Wednesday, with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start, with live results available at Golfstat.com.
For the second tournament in a row, Kingsley is CBU in 11th place individually. He opened by shooting two-under-par 69 in round one and then carded a 74 to give him a 143.
Hallam went under par in his second round, and is one shot off Kingsley in 15th place (144, 74-70). Monsalve turned in a 146 after he opened with a 75 and finished with an even-par 71.
John Hayes scored in the first round for CBU, with a 75, while Connor Benjamin scored with a 78 over the next 18 holes. Hayes is tied for 57th with a 154 (75-79) and Benjamin is in 61st with a 155 (77-78).
