Lancers Notch Four Top-20 Finishes

IRVINE, Calif. – Four top-20 finishes highlighted day two of UC Irvine's Steve Scott Invitational for California Baptist University on Saturday.

Simon Bedard led the way for CBU with a sixth-place finish in a 93-runner field in the 1,500 meter. Bedard logged a time of three minutes, 52.10 seconds to take sixth.

Timothy Legemet and Dennis Messmer pushed each other in the 800 meter. The two were neck and neck and took 13th and 14th, with Legemet finishing first in 1:55.54, while Messmer crossed the line just a .10 of a second later. Both came within one second of placing in the top 10.

Zlatko Kozuhar and Cody Beeson also ran the 1,500 for CBU. Kozuhar took 18th with a time of 3:59.38, while Beeson took 35th in 4:3.51.

The Lancers will now turn their attention to the Western Athletic Conference Championships taking place in Orem, Utah May 9-11.
