RIVERSIDE – California Baptist will be spending Valentine's weekend in the resort destination of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, but it will be a business trip for the Lancers. They are set to take on some of the nation's top softball teams in the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge.
CBU will face off with Texas, Colorado State, Ole Miss and Tennessee Thursday, Feb. 13 through Saturday, Feb. 15, with the CSU/Ole Miss doubleheader slated for Valentine's Day. The four teams have seen postseason success recently and often.
Tennessee reached the Super Regionals in 2019 for the third consecutive season and seventh time in the past eight years. The Lady Vols have been national runner-ups twice, most recently in 2013. Colorado State made its return to the National Tournament after a 16-year drought, while Ole Miss is looking to push its postseason streak to four years in a row.
