
Lancers Claim Top-4 Finish At Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational

LAKEWOOD --- California Baptist University climbed up six spots from the first round to finish the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational tied for fourth out of 20 teams.
The two-day tournament was held at Tacoma Country & Golf Club in Lakewood, Washington. After an opening-round 20-over-par 308 team score, the Lancers produced an 11-over-par 299 score in the second round and followed that up with a 9-over-par 297 team score in the final round. The 9-over-par in the final round by the Lancers marked the lowest team score in the field.
Seattle U went wire-to-wire to win the 54-hole event, finishing with a 21-over-par 885 team score to edge the field by four strokes. Santa Clara placed second with a 25-over-par 889 team score, while Utah Valley rounded out the podium with a 31-over-par 895. Gonzaga tied the Lancers in fourth as both teams shot a 40-over-par 904.
The tied-for-fourth finish marks the 10th straight tournament the Lancers have finished tied for fourth or better. The streak dates back to Oct. 28, 2019.
Jocelyn Chee closed out the final day in style, as the captain produced a 2-under-par 70 to take runner-up out of 111 golfers with a 215 total. Sofia Chabon also cracked the top-15 with a 223 total to place T-14th. Hailey Loh closed out her round with a 4-over-par 76 for a 233 to place T-61st, while Haruka Shintani finished T-73rd with a 238 total. Esther Lee placed 89th and shot a 242 total.
The Lancers will close out their fall season at The Clash at Boulder Creek, hosted by Northern Arizona, on Oct. 24-26.
