
Armstrong Earns Second Straight WAC Honor

DENVER --- For the second straight week, California Baptist University's Taran Armstrong has been named TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week.
Armstrong, a 6-5 freshman guard from Burnie, Tasmania, has been spectacular for the Lancers at the start of his collegiate career. In the three wins for the Lancers, Armstrong averaged 16.7 points per game, 9.7 assists per game, and 8.0 rebounds per game. He scored a career-best 19 points in the 74-70 win over Northern Colorado and recorded the program's first triple-double in the 67-66 win over San Jose State. In the game against the Spartans, he finished his line with 16 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds. His 9.2 assists per game on the year leads the nation, as the next closest is Sahvir Wheeler of Kentucky with 8.5 apg.

The Lancers hit the road this week to face the No. 8/5 ranked the University of Texas on Nov. 24 at 5:30 p.m.
