Senior Night Dominance Clinches an Undefeated Home Season
3/5/2026 10:20:00 PM | Men's Basketball
RIVERSIDE --- The Lancers have successfully run through a regular season without losing a game inside the Fowler Events Center, as they topped Abilene Christian in dominant fashion Thursday night. CBU ends the year 15-0 at home, extending their home winning streak to 19 games.
Thursday night's win also establishes another milestone, as the Lancers won their 22nd game, the most single season wins in the Division I era.
"Our guys just came ready to play," said head coach Rick Croy. "We've been a bit choppy at home. Sometimes we play really well defensively, other times we've played well offensively. But we've had a hard time putting it together. We've been pretty consistent on the glass, but tonight we were hitting on all three fronts early, and we were able to throw the first couple punches."
Over 4,800 fans filed into the Dale E. and Sarah Ann Fowler Events Center on Thursday to send off the senior class in style. That attendance figure made CBU the highest attended non-football Division I program in California this season.
California Baptist University extends its deepest gratitude to Lancer Nation for their support all season.
Five seniors were honored before Thursday's game, and all made an impact in the win as all but one player to step onto the floor Thursday scored. The five seniors playing for the final time in front of their home fans were: Dominique Daniels Jr., Jayden Jackson, Miles Daniels, Monty Bowser, and Martel Williams.
Daniels Jr. led the bunch with 22 points in his final Riverside start. He finished 9-of-13 from the field. Williams added ten. Bowser scored a season-high seven points. Jackson ended the night with six points, and Daniels closed out the evening with five.
CBU's 87 points came on a lethal 58.5 percent shooting performance. The Lancers sank 31-of-53 from the field compared to a 14-of-42 (33.3 percent) showing by ACU.
The Lancers never trailed for the second game in a row. CBU knocked down their first bucket 46 seconds into the game, a Bradey Henige layup, and proceeded to lead for the next 39:14 of regulation. CBU's lead jumped as high as 41 with 3:09 remaining in regulation.
Henige closed the night with nine points after scoring CBU's first six.
The Lancers will wrap up the regular season on Saturday when they visit Southern Utah in Cedar City. CBU still has a chance to clinch a share of the WAC regular season championship, but they will need to pair a win with a Utah Valley loss.
CBU has secured at least the second seed in the WAC Tournament, which guarantees the Lancers a second-straight visit to the semifinals.
"Every game is meaningful for this group because they love competing together," added Croy on Saturday's game. "They've done a great job controlling the controllables. We can't shift our focus and worry about what other teams are doing."
Saturday's tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. (PST).
