Branch, O'Donell Net Hat Tricks in CBU's GCC Contest at LMU

LOS ANGELES – Amy Branch and Kira O'Donell both scored hat tricks for California Baptist University women's water polo, but it was not enough to take down 17th-ranked Loyola Marymount in Golden Coast Conference play at the Burns Aquatics Center on Saturday.
The Lions pulled out the 11-10 overtime victory over 22nd-ranked CBU. LMU improves to 1-1 overall and in GCC action this year, while the Lancers drop to 0-8, 0-2.
O'Donell finished with three goals, an assist, two drawn ejections and two steals. Branch added an assist, as well. Vicky Martinez scored twice in the game, as well, for the Lancers.
Jamie Hutton finished the game with five assists for the Lancers. Katie Fugit and Maddie Schwegler also had a goal, assist and steal for CBU.
The Lancers will continue GCC play with a home game against 20th-ranked Azusa Pacific on Thursday, March 18 at 3 p.m. at the Lancer Aquatics Center.
