Emmie Ramirez Secures GCC Player of the Week After Incredible Wildcat Invite Performance

RIVERSIDE--- Emmie Ramirez has started off her first season in Riverside after transferring in from Cal on fire, as she was named the GCC Player of the Week following her incredible tournament performance at the Wildcat Invitational on the East Coast this past weekend.
Ramirez scored 27 total points over four matches in Villanova, PA, to help the Lancers go 2-2 in the prestigious tournament. CBU defeated the host Villanova 18-15 on the opening night and defeated #22 Wagner, while falling to #13 Princeton and #8 Harvard in close matches.
Ramirez scored 17 goals and dished out ten assists over the weekend and also led the team in steals with 13. Against Villanova, Ramriez scored a career-best nine points with five goals and four assists, and would record a hat trick in every match in the tournament. Ramirez leads the Lancers in goals this season with 33 and is second on the team in assists with 29.
Ramirez and the Lancers are back in action this Saturday as they open GCC play against #19 San Diego State at the Lancer Aquatics Center at 12 PM.
