Lancers Sweep Northwest on the Road, Thanks to a Strong Attack

KIRKLAND – California Baptist University volleyball was in control from start to finish in its non-conference match at Northwest University. The Lancers swept the Eagles 25-15, 25-20, 25-15 to pull within a match of .500 on the season.
Thanks to strong setting and finishing, CBU hit .384 as a team in the match (45-12-86). Calissa Hoye had a match-high 12 kills, seven digs and an ace, while hitting .333. Tesa Oaks was not far behind with 11 kills on a .526 percentage.
 
Hana Okuhara had a match-high 22 assists, five digs and two kills in about two sets. Leah Pease chipped in 12 assists, two kills and an ace in about one set.
Paige Johnstone continued to pace the Lancers with a match-high 14 digs, along with an ace. Ellie Voss got off to a strong start and had seven kills on a .875 percentage through about a set and a half. True freshman Victoria Goff had six digs and two aces for CBU, as well.
 
CBU improves to 7-8 on the season and drops Northwest to 0-4. The Lancers will wrap up their scheduled regular-season matches with a road trip to Saint Martin's on Tuesday at 3 p.m., with a chance to move to 8-8.
