Lancers Set 10 New Top-10 Times in Their 10K History at The Sound Meet

IRVINE – California Baptist University track just about rewrote its 10,000-meter record book, with 10 new top-10 times in the event in the team's second event of the season.
Six Lancers recorded new top-10 times on the men's side, while the women had four new top-10 times in the race at The Sound Meet on Friday night at Crean Lutheran High School.
Emilie Renaud led the women with a fifth-place finish individually and the second-best mark in program history, with a time of 34 minutes, 45.11 seconds. Florian Le Pallec paced the men when he took ninth place in 29:38.63, which was the third-best time in the team's top-10 list.
Four of five CBU runners clocked new top-10 times for the women that earned them top-10 finishes. Greta Karinauskaite recorded the third-best time for the Lancers and took seventh in 34:58.50. Anna Mate took eighth place in 35:02.95, which is a top-five time in CBU history. Paige Haynes added to the history with a top-10 time of 36:12.78 that was good for 10th place.
Six of seven Lancers had top-10 times on the men's side. Roman Zozulia took 11th in 30:09.12, which is the fifth-best time in CBU history. Manuel Bruno (30:14.37, sixth); Arturs Medveds (30:27.28, seventh); Tyler Tickner (30:31.33, eighth) and Zlatko Kozuhar (30:39.78, 10th) finished back-to-back-to-back-to-back in 13th to 16th place with top-10 times.
CBU added two more top-five finishes in the 1500-meter on the women's side. Anneken Viljoen took fourth place in 4:34.04, while Helen Pacurariu-Nagy came in fifth in 4:42.97.
The Lancers are back in action next week at Azusa Pacific's Franson Classic on Friday and Saturday, April 9-10.
