RIVERSIDE -- California Baptist University men's soccer's Thomas Beecham keeps adding to his trophy case after a phenomenal 2021 spring season. The freshman defender picked up another impressive all-freshman award to his resume.
College Soccer News named Beecham to its Freshman All-America Second Team after he'd already claimed all-conference, all-region and Top Drawer Soccer All-Freshman Team awards. His fourth major award makes Beecham CBU's most decorated NCAA Division I player so far and he still has four years of athletic eligibility left.
Beecham started all 12 games for the Lancers and anchored a stout Lancer defense from his center back station. He averaged over 90 minutes of playing time per game this season, providing not only great play, but reliability as well. Beecham managed to record three points on the season, first scoring in the season opener against Houston Baptist on Feb. 28, before assisting the game-winner in the season finale at Utah Valley on April 9.
