KANSAS CITY, KS --- With the 64th pick in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft, Sporting Kansas City has selected California Baptist striker Blake D'Agostino. D'Agostino, who led the Lancers with ten goals in the 2025 campaign, becomes the second CBU student-athlete to be selected in the MLS SuperDraft.
D'Agostino shares the honor of being a drafted Lancer with one of his coaches, CBU Hall of Fame member Aidan Apodaca, who was the 55th pick in the 2018 SuperDraft by the Philadelphia Union.
Thursday's selection continues a trend of Lancers in the MLS. Former Lancers Preston Judd and Luis Mueller have both spent time with MLS clubs. Judd has appeared in 72 MLS matches (22 starts) across four seasons, split between LA Galaxy and San Jose Earthquakes. Mueller has appeared in four matches with LAFC and has added 31 professional appearances with LAFC2 and Ventura County.
The 2025 MLS SuperDraft came one week after D'Agostino and 43 other college soccer players took part in the MLS College Showcase in Arizona. The MLS College Showcase is an invitation-only event that features top talent across college soccer, competing in front of MLS scouts and team representatives.
On Wednesday, D'Agostino was announced as one of 436 draft-eligible players across 150 schools.
D'Agostino, a sophomore out of Greenwood Village, CO, wrapped up his second season with the Lancers in 2025 with a team-leading ten goals and 22 points. He was a perfect 5-for-5 on penalty attempts and netted two game-winning goals during CBU's run to a WAC regular-season championship.
In his freshman season, D'Agostino led the Lancers with six goals and 12 points.
D'Agostino is one of four selections made by Sporting Kansas City on Thursday. Joining him are Kwaku Agyabeng (Pick 4, Clemson), Nikos Clarke-Tosczak (Pick 19, Portland), and Sadam Masereka (Pick 34, Maryland).
