ST. GEORGE, UTAH – Five Lancers scored in double-figures as California Baptist University women's basketball opened its three-game road trip with a dominant win over Dixie State, 88-60, on Thursday. The win bumps the Lancers' record up to 11-2 on the season and 2-0 in the Western Athletic Conference, adversely, the Trailblazers drop to 5-9 and 1-2, respectively.
Ane Olaeta led all scorers with 22 points to go with five assists, four boards and four steals. Caitlyn Harper notched her third double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds while Tiena Neale had her best game so far this season, scoring 15 points on 5-7 shooting from beyond the arc.
Fresh off her first WAC Freshman of the Week award, Trinity San Antonio had another great all-around game, scoring 14 points on an efficient 6-9 shooting from the field, grabbing four boards and nabbing three steals. Sydney Palma matched her season-high with 11 points to round out the Lancers' double-digit scorers.
As a team, the Lancers managed to find their way back to their usual high level of shooting performance. The Lancers combined to shoot 49.3% (34-69) from the field, 39.3% (11-28) from downtown and 81.8% (9-11) from the charity stripe, the best numbers in each category since the TCU game on Nov. 27.
Harper and Olaeta opened the game strong, scoring nine points apiece in the opening frame, but the Trailblazers were also hot to start, matching the Lancers point-for-point to close out the opening quarter tied at 25. The Blazers would score first in the second quarter, but the Lancers would answer with a 13-0 to begin to open the game up.
After leading by 11 at halftime, CBU continued to build on its lead in the third quarter, increasing the margin to 17 points at its peak, but never less than 11 in the second half. The Lancers would slam the door shut in the fourth with another double-digit scoring run, eventually running the difference to as many as 32 points before the final horn sounded.

It's official Ane Olaeta can literally do anything. She just flashed some high-level post moves, took the contact down low, and finished through the contact. Wow!#LanceUp⚔️ pic.twitter.com/1sV0RwqKtp
