
Dahoue Leads Lancers To Sweep of Sam Houston

RIVERSIDE --- California Baptist University volleyball got back on track Thursday night with a three set sweep (25-17, 26-24, 25-12) of the Sam Houston Bearkats in Van Dyne Gym.
The Lancers finished with a .350 hitting percentage led by outside hitters Sherine Dahoue (14 kills) and Michalina Rola (11 kills).
In the opening set, the Lancers went on an 8-2 run in the middle of the set fueled by three straight Dahoue kills to take control. The Lancers finished off the set with 16 total kills and to take the set, 25-17.
The Lancers faced an eight-point deficit in set two with the Bearkats leading 19-11 late. The Lancers went on to outscored the Bearkats 15-5 and defeated Sam Houston, 26-24. Middle blocker Chandler Gorman and opposite hitter Anna Jackson combined on a key block to tie the set at 24, before Dahoue closed it out with back-to-back kills to put the Bearkats away.
The Lancers dominated the third set, jumping out to an early 8-0 lead before eventually winning the final set 25-12 to pull off the sweep.
Going into the match, the Bearkats were on a six-game losing streak and were 3-7 in Western Athletic Conference action, while the Lancers were 3-6 in league play. With the victory, the Lancers improved to 9-12 overall and the Bearkats fall to 6-19 overall.
The Lancers will hit the road at Utah Tech next Thursday at 6 p.m. on ESPN + for a conference match-up in St. George, UT.
