SEATTLE--- The Lancers faced a PAC-12 opponent for the fourth straight year on the road, taking on the Huskies of the University of Washington. They notched their first-ever victory over a PAC-12 opponent and against any Power 5 school in program history as they upset Washington 73-64.
The Lancers fell behind early in the first half before going on a 15-2 run to take their first lead and controlled most of the game. The Lancers led for nearly 31 minutes of play, only trailing for seven minutes of game time.
Taran Armstrong put on another fantastic show, leading all scorers with 18 points, adding five rebounds, and six assists. Sharpshooter Joe Quintana kept the Lancers in control in the first half with back-to-back triples and finished the game with 17 points.
The Lancer's bench once again brought intensity and was led by an incredible performance from Timothy Ighoefe who had ten points, 11 rebounds, and six blocks. Ighoefe patrolled the paint all night long, and his defense kept the Huskies on their heels all game.
The Lancers shot 51% from the field and 44% from the three-point line, their best marks of the young season. CBU held Washington guard, and Kentucky transfer, Keion Brooks Jr. to just 11 points on 4-12 shooting, and they held the Huskies to 25% from behind the arc.
The Lancers will take this momentum to the SoCal Challenge next week as they face Minnesota in San Juan Capistrano on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
