RIVERSIDE --- California Baptist University's STUNT team hosted its first-ever tournament on Friday, as the Lancers opened The Joust with a 21-1 victory over Arizona State.
It marked the second time the Lancers have faced the Sun Devils on the mat, improving to 14-0 on the season. The Lancers extend their winning streak to 29-straight wins since the program's inception.
The Lancers opened the tournament in true fashion, winning the first four rounds of partner stunts to take a 4-0 lead. It was smooth sailing from there on out, as the Lancers closed out the first half with an 8-1 lead.
California Baptist was perfect in the remaining two quarters, earning all four points in group jumps and tumbling to take a 12-1 advantage. The Lancers closed out the game with nine-straight points to record their second straight 21-1 victory over Arizona State.
With the win, the Lancers advance to the championship game on Saturday, March 26, at 1 p.m. in the CBU Events Center. The Lancers will face the winner of the Hope International/Arizona State game.
