Lancers End NCA College Nationals On A High Note

DAYTONA BEACH --- California Baptist University's cheer team closed out the NCA Collegiate Cheer Championships on Saturday, as the Lancers ended on a high note with a second-place performance in group stunt.
The Lancers recorded another zero deduction routine with 94.5 points to place second out of 11 teams on the day. Julie Haas, Taylor Bruce, Regan Clark, and Lauren Reid narrowly finished behind the University of West Georgia, who won the event with 96.8 points.
California Baptist ends the three-day competition with history under its belt, bringing home three national championships between the cheer and dance programs and a top-two finish in group stunts on Saturday.
On Friday, the cheer team swept the Division I Advanced All-Girl and Division I Intermediate All-Girl competitions. It marked the eighth national title for the Lancers in the Advanced competition and the first-ever national title in the Intermediate competition. As for the dance team, the Lancers claimed their first-ever national title in the Division I Pom competition.
