
Cheer and Dance Claim Paid Bids At Las Vegas Camp

LAS VEGAS --- California Baptist University's cheer and dance teams showcased their dominance at the NCA/NDA Las Vegas Cheer/Dance Camp on Thursday, as both programs claimed a Full Paid Bid for Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Each year, teams from all over the country, across all divisions, compete at the NCA/NDA Collegiate Camp with hopes of earning accolades heading into the season and a ticket to compete at the national championship in April. This marks the fourth straight season the cheer team has earned the paid bids since transitioning into NCAA Division I.
The Lancers recorded a total of 19 All-Americans on the day, with 18 coming from the cheer side and one on the dance side. Reagan Albin, Vianney Alfaro, Taylor Bruce, Allison Carroll, Alaina Casanova, Jenica Earl, Katie Fleming, Cristiana Harless, Reilly Hays, Nicole Lauro, Morgan McKinley, Brileyah Ogden, Carissa Santoyo, McKina Stalheim, Reese Stalheim, Marissa Warren, Maddie Waschak, and Zoe White represented the All-American class for the cheer team. With over 100 dancers at the camp, Cheyenne Compton was named one of the seven All-Americans for the dance team.
On the cheer side, the Lancers won the Most Collegiate All-Girl Team Award and placed first in the Advanced All-Girl Game Day Routine and Intermediate All-Girl Game Day Routine. Both the Lancers' All-Girl Advanced and All-Girl Intermediate advanced to the Game Day runoff, where the winner from each division of the game day division competes against each other. The winner of the run-off gets a Gold Paid Bid to both the NCA and USA Nationals. The Lancers came out on top of the Game Day Run-Off, beating out Weber State (2nd) and Idaho State (3rd).
The Lancers also won the Rally Routine Intermediate All-Girl, finishing ahead of Stanislaus State (2nd) and Sonoma State (3rd).
As for the dance program, the Lancers received a Silver Team Bid to Nationals, placed third in the NDA Team Dance category, and Izzy Hennigar and Isabelle Gonzalez placed inside the top 10 in the USA Dance Star. The Lancers finished the day winning the NDA Spirit Stick.
