Citherlet Leads Charge After Day Two At Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational

USAF ACADEMY --- California Baptist University's men's golf team moved up a spot after the second round of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational on Saturday, as the Lancers sit in 18th out of 24 teams.
The field of 24 was battle-tested during the second round, as rain poured down for the majority of the day. Colorado State continued to hold on to its five-stroke lead after day two with a 13-under-par 563 team score. San Jose State jumped up six spots to move into second with an 8-under-par 568 team score after a tournament-best 12-under-par 276 on the day. Colorado dropped a spot to third with a 1-under-par 575 team score.
The Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational is a two-part event with the team competition being played on the Blue Course and the individual event on the Silver Course. The 24-team, 54-hole tournament will take place over three days at the Eisenhower Golf Couse.
Sean Citherlet was the top finisher for the Lancers on the day, firing back-to-back 74's to move into T-43rd with a 4-over-par 148. Chanhee Ryu finished behind Citherlet at T-48th with a 5-over-par 149. Sam Jenkins made the largest leap up the leaderboard for the Lancers, climbing up 15 spots to tie with teammate Eeli Kujanpää at T-78th with an 8-over-par 152. Kujanpää was able to move up four spots
Davis Bryant of Colorado State maintained his lead over the 120-player field with a 9-under-par 135 after the second round.
The Lancer will close out the final round on Sunday, Sept. 11, with a shotgun start set for 7:20 a.m. (PST).
