RIVERSIDE--- The California Baptist women's golf program will compete in the Loyola Parkinson Invitational in Libertyville, Illinois, on Monday and Tuesday for their third event of the fall season. The Lancers are coming off a ninth-place finish at the Coeur D'Alene Collegiate Invitational a few weeks ago and will be looking to add another top-five finish to their fall record.
This will be the first time the Lancers will compete in the Loyola Parkinson Invitational, hosted by Loyola University Chicago at The Merit Club. The squad will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday for the two-day tournament. The 320-acre course spans 6,041 yards and is a par 72 course designed to provide passionate golfers of all skill levels with a challenging, fun, and fair test. The course hosted the USGA's 55th Women's Open in 2000 and the 2016 UL International Crown Championship.
For this tournament, the Lancers will travel Sofia Chabon, Samantha Dizon, Damini Law Ghanshyani, Pusanisa Ekkantrong, and Filipa Capelo. Chabon picked up her first career individual win at the first tournament of the season and was recently named Western Athletic Conference Golfer of the Month for her 8-under performance. This will be the third event of the fall season for Chabon, Dizon, Ghanshyani, and Ekkantrong, while this will be the first of the year for Capelo.
