CBU Announces 2024 Baseball Schedule

RIVERSIDE--- The California Baptist University baseball program has announced its 2024 schedule as the Lancers embark on their sixth season in the Western Athletic Conference after finishing 28-30 overall last season and 15-15 in conference play. Head Coach Gary Adcock's team also made their postseason debut at the WAC Tournament last season, qualifying after their first season eligible at the NCAA Division I level.
The Lancers will begin their season in Malibu, facing off against Pepperdine and Utah at Eddy D. Stadium on February 16th and 17th. Home action starts on February 18th against Pepperdine and Utah before CBU hosts UC Riverside (February 22-25) in the first game of a four-game series. The Lancers will kick off March with a home series against UC Davis (March 1-3) in another four-game series, with a doubleheader on Saturday.
Adcock's team will then head to Irvine to take on the Anteaters on March 5th, who finished last season with an RPI of 40. WAC play begins on March 8th for the Lancers as they welcome the Seattle Redhawks for their first conference series of the season. CBU will then play USC in a midweek tilt (March 12th) and then take on the University of Connecticut in a weekend series (March 15-17th) during a WAC bye week. UCONN finished the 2023 season as Big East Champions and advanced to the NCAA Gainesville Regional. Before heading to Stephenville, Texas, to face Tarleton (March 22-24), the Lancers will host Dartmouth College on March 19th for the first time in program history.
Upon their return from Texas, CBU will welcome CSUN to Riverside (March 25th) just before hosting UT Arlington (March 28th-30th) in more WAC series action. During that week, the Lancers will head to UC Santa Barbara to reface the Gauchos after the squads went 1-1 last season in two tightly contested games. The team will open April in Sacramento as they face the Hornets in a WAC weekend series (April 5th-6th) and then head to Los Angeles County to play CSUN for the second time (April 9th) this season.
The Lancers will welcome Stephen F. Austin for a home WAC series (April 12th-14th) and UNLV for a midweek tilt (April 15th) ahead of their trip to Abilene Christian to face the Wildcats (April 19th- 21st). ACU finished fifth last season in the regular season and made it to the semifinals of the WAC Tournament before eventual champion Sam Houston knocked them out.
CBU will host Long Beach (April 23rd) and UCSB (April 30th) in their final home midweek games and will close out their non-conference schedule at Long Beach on May 13th. The Lancers finish their WAC schedule with a pair of home series against Utah Valley (April 26th-29th) and UTRGV (May 10th- 12th) and two away series against Grand Canyon (May 3rd -5th) and Utah Tech (May 16th-18th).
