Lancers Cruise Against Concordia in Home Opener
2/22/2023 9:05:00 PM | Stunt
RIVERSIDE - California Baptist University STUNT plays in their first home opener of the season against Concordia University Irvine. CBU Lancers and CUI Eagles ended the game with a score of 24-1. The win also improved the Lancers' record on the season to a perfect 8-0, and pushes the win streak to 44 in-a-row.
CBU was in true form all night, as the Lancers took an early 4-0 lead in partner stunts. The Lancers closed out the first half perfect, winning all four rounds in the second quarter of pyramid and tosses to take an 8-0 lead at the half.
Jordan Bruce, third year in the CBU program, and player of the game with 68 points, states her favorite level to play in a game is, "what keeps me pushing is my team because we are able to bring more energy and gritt to the next routine to get the next point. It makes the game more exciting because we are hungry to get the next point."
The Lancers started third quarter, jumps and tumbling, with the Eagles having possession and CBU won all levels 5, 7, 1, and 8.
I asked Savannah Frausto, sixth year in CBU STUNT and stunter of the game, what she is looking forward to most this season and she said, "What I'm looking forward to the most this season is pushing ourselves towards excellence and continuing to grow in our abilities and as a family."
