Lancers Storm Kentucky, Continue Winning Way

LEXINGTON - California Baptist University's STUNT team continued its undefeated season on Friday as the Lancers opened up the first University of Kentucky tournament.
The Lancers improve to 6-0 on the season and finish the University of Kentucky tournament with a perfect 4-0 after taking down Central Michigan, University of Ashland, and Davenport University and ending the tournament head-to-head with the UK. The Lancers extend their winning streak to 46 straight wins since the program's inception.
Game one - Michigan:
The Lancers opened the Friday tournament against the Chippewas, taking the first four points in the opening quarter. Texas got on the board in the third quarter and tied in the last round. The Lancers were in true form, winning the first game over Central Michigan, 24-1.
Michaela Grim was the highest-rated player with 63 points.
Game two - Ashland:
With an hour break before taking on the Eagles, the Lancers showed no signs of slowing down in game two. CBU jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead in the first half and didn't look back. CBU followed that up with a perfect game against Ashland University in a 24-2 showing.
Breanna Gonzalez was the highest-rated player with 50 points.
Game three - Davenport:
CBU jumped out to a 3-2 lead in the first quarter against Davenport in Saturday's game. The Lancers then went into halftime 6-3. The Lancers and Panthers play levels 5, 6, 7, and 8 for the rest of the game. The game ends with the Lancers winning 18-12.
Jordan Bruce was the highest-rated player with 72 points.
Game four - Kentucky:
The Lancers end the perfect weekend by downing the tournament hosts, the University of Kentucky. CBU won every point in the game with 4 ties by Kentucky. Til the Wildcats and the Lancers meet again in the championship game hosted at CBU.
Jordan Bruce was the highest-rated player with 88 points.
The Lancers will return home on Wednesday, March 15, to take on Vanguard in the Events Center at 7 p.m.
