
CBU Slides In Final Round of UC San Diego Invitational, Kujanpaa Finishes in the Top-10

LA JOLLA – California Baptist University men's golf finished the UC San Diego Invitational on Tuesday morning with a 2-over 290 team final round to finish the tournament in eighth place out of 15 teams. The Lancers still closed out the tournament with an 851 (-13) team score, tied for the third-best team score after three rounds in program history. Oklahoma Christian took the tournament title with a 32-under 832 team score, while Seattle U (30-under, 834) and CSUN (25-under, 839) rounded out the top-three teams.
Eeli Kujanpaa shot a 2-over 74 in the final round but still claimed 10th place overall with his three-round score of 7-under (209). Luke Bartram wet 1-over on the day, finishing in the top-15 at T14 overall.
John Hayes won the day as the only Lancer to go under on Tuesday. His 2-under (70) vaulted him up 20 spots on the leaderboard to finish T37 at Torrey Pines North. Sean Citherlit carded a 1-over (73) in the final round to land T45 for the tournament, and Ryan Fisher birdied three of his last four holes of the tournament to turn in a 2-over (74) on Tuesday, landing him in T65 after all was said and done.
CBU will head east for its next tournament, scheduled to take part in the 46th Rutherford Intercollegiate hosted by Penn State on April 15 & 16 in University Park, PA.
