
CBU Wraps up the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa

AZUSA--- The California Baptist University track team wrapped up the Bryan Clay Invitational with five runners competing in three different races to close the weekend.
Tyler Tickner and Zlatko Kozuhar started the evening in the men's 1500m with times of 3:53.27 and 4:04.60. Tickner finished second in his heat and in the top 50 in the event. Matias Reynaga and David Ninavia competed in the men's 1500m invite, with Reynaga logging the fifth-fastest time in program history. Reynaga also placed fourth in his heat and came within two seconds of the leader from Wisconsin.
Mia Cabrera finished off the stellar weekend with a top-10 time of her own in the women's 1500m. Cabrera logged a time of 4:31.14 which was fourth in her heat and was a new personal best in the event.
CBU finished the Invitational with a pair of new records in the women's 3000m steeplechase and the men's 5000m by Great Karinauskaite and Valentin Soca with times of 9:46.72 and 28:34.34, respectively. The weekend also produced 16 new times in the program's top-10 list.
Among the top 10 finishers were Maelle Porcher, Emilia Mikszuta, Giedrius Valincius, Arturs Medveds, and Yasna Petrova.
Next, the Lancers will stay in Southern California to compete in the Steve Scott Invite at UC Irvine on Friday, April 28th.
