
CBU Battles the Brisbane Bullets in First Game of Foreign Tour

BRISBANE--- In the first game of their foreign tour, the California Baptist University men's basketball team fell to the Brisbane Bullets 75-48. The Bullets are an Australian professional team in the National Basketball League and feature former NBA player Aron Baynes and 7'3 phenom Rocco Zikarsky.
The Lancers kept the game tight through halftime, with the Bullets leading 37-25 at the midpoint. The Bullets went on to earn the win behind Zikarky's 23 points and six blocks and former Montana forward Josh Bannan's 12 points and nine rebounds. CBU was led in scoring by incoming LSU transfer Kendal Coleman who had ten points and four rebounds in a little under 19 minutes of action. 11 Lancers in total scored in the ball game, with more than half of their offense coming from the second unit. Chris Chiles, another incoming transfer, was next in the box score with eight points on 50% shooting off the pine.
Hunter Goodrick had a game-high 12 rebounds in a starting role and helped the Lancers win the second chance battle over the Bullets 12-4.
The Lancers will be back in action against Melbourne United of the NBL on Saturday, August 12th with tip off set for 2:30 AM PT and 7:30 P.M. local time.
