RIVERSIDE--- The California Baptist baseball program closed out its fall season with a pair of Fall Ball games and several team-building activities to prepare for the 2025 spring season. Head Coach Gary Adcock's squad faced off against Arizona State and California State University, Fullerton, in two good tests before returning to Totman Stadium for the annual Fall CBU World Series, ending with Lancer Testing and Fun Week.
The Fall CBU World Series was all Blue after Ryan Kim and Cole Howarth led their squad to glory, besting the Gold team 4-1 in the five-game series. Howarth and Kim both took home MVP honors, as did newcomer Alfredo Capacete for his efforts from the mound. The Blue team was honored with steaks at the World Series BBQ before the Lancer Testing and Fun Week commenced the following Monday.
Adcock's squad kicked off the new week with endurance testing before playing a nine-hole scramble as the team-building activity for Monday, which saw Ryan Kittredge as MVP for the winning team. Tuesday was Holiday 5K before the ultimate frisbee tournament commenced. Coach Paul Koss's team won after defeating Coach Andrew Brasington's squad after Lucas Zack caught the final point to secure the win and was the tournament MVP.
California Baptist's official season is set to begin in February 2025, with the opening weekend kicking off at Totman Stadium against Portland on February 14th.
