DAVIS, CA --- Junior Riley Hunsaker hit a two-run home run in the 11th inning to clinch an extra-inning victory in Davis. The 4-2 victory secures another series win for the Lancers as they head into the finale of the regular season tomorrow afternoon.
CBU enters the final day of the regular season 42-13 overall, extending the winningest season in the program's Division I era.
Right-hander Luis Becerra set the tone for CBU on the mound as he allowed one run across three hits in his 5.2 innings of work. Becerra received a no-decision as the game was tied at one when he departed.
The Lancers scored their early run on a Cole Howarth sacrifice fly in the top of the first. Davis countered with their own sac fly in the sixth. After three innings of zeroes forced extra innings, the Lancers regained the lead on a throwing error that allowed Bryce McFeely to score. Davis got the run back in the bottom of the tenth, leveling the score at two.
Hunsaker then played the role of Thursday's hero in the 11th with his two-run homer, his fourth of the season.
Cameron Teper earned the win after logging a scoreless 11th inning. Andre Rugg recorded four outs without allowing a run, and Zachary Yates tossed 1.2 innings in relief with two strikeouts. Neither Rudd nor Yates allowed a hit.
McFeely led the Lancers with three hits. Howarth and Ben Castelli each finished with two.
The Lancers and Aggies will meet one final time on Friday as the regular season wraps up. Friday's finale is scheduled for noon.
