
Lancers Finish Play at the San Diego State Classic

SAN DIEGO--- The California Baptist Women's Golf team opened their spring slate in San Diego this week at the San Diego State Classic. The Lancers finished in 11th of 12 teams, nine of which were ranked in the top 80 squads of NCAA DI and included #6 South Carolina who were the ultimate champions of the event.

The two-day event at The Farms of Rancho Santa Fe proved to be challenging from the start, as every single team carded an over-par finish. Sofia Chabon led the Lancers from the first round, staying within eight strokes of par through all three rounds. Chabon ultimately carded a 32nd-place finish among 63 golfers with her best rounds coming during the second and third. Pusanisa Ekkantrong also did fairly well against The Farms course and finished in 42nd after posting a team-low 75 score during the third round after going even eith par through the last four holes. Esther Lee finished in 43rd, while Samantha Dizon carded a 51st place and Burberry Zhang finished in 58th.
The Lancers will now gear up for their second spring event at the Rio Verde Collegiate Classic in Arizona from February 23rd through the 25th.
