NASHVILLE, TENN--- Another pair of wins in Nashville sealed yet another perfect weekend for the California Baptist STUNT team on Saturday afternoon. The Lancers took down Central Arkansas and the University of Kentucky for the program's 72nd win and the team's fourth win of the TNU STUNT Tournament. The Lancers improve to 16-0 this season.
CBU started the morning with a 24-0 shutout against Central Arkansas, collecting their second win against the Bears this season. Ella Hodson was named the Highest Rated Player for the second time this year after tallying 39 points on the mat. Layla Langrell earned Stunter of the Game, while both Bailee Henry and Michaela Grim earned 17 points for the title of Tumblers of the Match.
The second game of the day was highly coveted as it was the first meeting of the season between both of the 2023 STUNT National Championship teams. Kentucky managed to put five points on the board, but it was not enough to compete with 23 points from CBU. Henry showed out again and snagged another Highest Rated Player honor after scoring 86 points. Jordan Bruce was named Tumbler of the Game, while Brodi Perrault picked up a Stunter of the Game nod.
"After having two-a-day practices and grinding in the gym during spring break practices, we showed out this weekend," remarked senior Breanna Gonzalez. "It was a successful weekend, but we are ready to get back to California and continue to get one percent better than we were yesterday".
The Lancers will now return home to host The Joust next weekend and will welcome four collegiate programs for the program's annual tournament.
