CBU Competes in the Fresno State Classic

FRESNO, CALIF.--- The California Baptist women's golf team headed north to Fresno, California for the Fresno State Classic to kick off the week. Marc Machado's squad carded a 19th-place finish in a field of 21 as Sofia Chabon coined the group's best finish in 29th.
Chabon carried the team from the first round, earning the lowest score of the two-day tournament after shooting even with par during the first day. Samantha Dizon started the Fresno State Classic well, carding 1-over par to start the week. Chabon finished with a 75 final score in the second round, while Pusanisa Ekkantrong snagged her best round of the tournament with a four-over second round.
Chabon and Dizon shined again in the final round of the two-day contest, as the senior grabbed a 29th final finish and the sophomore tied for 83rd. Burberry Zhang finished in 97th, while Ekkantrong ended in 106th and Diletta Facchini placed 110th.
The Lancers will play in their final regular season tournament from April 8th-10th at the Bobcat Desert Classic in Goodyear, California, hosted by Montana State.
